Our story
Twenty-five years of Tennessee ground
Designs of Nature began in 2001 in Cookeville, Tennessee. Randy Domingue founded it, and his love of natural beauty and of hands-on craftsmanship is still at the heart of the company. It started as a design-build landscaping business and soon became the name people called for thoughtful outdoor design.
In 2013 Randy partnered with Adam to expand into Middle Tennessee and take on a broader range of work. Together they added landscape lighting, patios and retaining walls, so the company could care for an outdoor space from the ground up. What began as a working partnership grew into a deep friendship, and then into a family bond. That bond is how they still work and how they treat the people they work for.
Between them, Randy and Adam bring decades of experience to every job, whether it is a landscape renovation, a custom water feature or a full outdoor living space. No two of them are alike. The goal is the same each time: to exceed what the client expected and to leave a space they will enjoy for years.
Today we serve Northeast Arkansas and Tennessee from the studio in Cookeville.

When did Designs of Nature add lighting, patios and retaining walls?
In 2013, when Randy Domingue partnered with Adam to take the company into Middle Tennessee. Until then it was a design-build landscaping company; adding lighting, patios and retaining walls let it care for an outdoor space from the ground up.
